This session is for all councillors, to be well informed about your personal responsibilities to maintain high standards of behaviour, being in a public office role.
We will explore expectations, as detailed in your Council’s Code of Conduct including about dealing with financial and personal interests and your responsibilities to declare these and understanding how these may cloud ‘public interest’ judgement, so depending on the nature of the interest when you can and can’t be involved in discussions and decision making on these matters.
The session will help clarify this important part of a councillor’s responsibilities to ensure involvement in public life is conducted at high standards.
