Roles and Responsibilities for councillors and clerks

£10 County Association Members/£15 non-members (invoice after the event)

This will be a 2 hour training session on the Roles and Responsibilities of a council, councillors, chair, and clerk which is essential for understanding who does what and why in a parish/town council. It will also include a reminder of the importance of your Council’s Code of Conduct and an understanding of how to deal with interests.

The course covers essential foundation knowledge for all councillors and is suitable for both new and existing councillors as well as council staff.

Our presenters will be:

Lesley Swinbank, currently clerk to a small parish council in County Durham but with over 30+ years as a large town council clerk.

Audrey Christie, Executive Officer at the County Durham Association of Local Councils

Please note that bookings and cancellatons will close 48 hours before the event.  Cancellations should be emailed to cdalc@durham.gov.uk.  After this time all live bookings will be charged whether the person attends or not, but non attendees will be sent the presentation. Councils will be invoiced after each event.

Online training will be delivered using Zoom and the online weblink will be emailed to participants no later than 24 hours before the event.
