PREVENT: Preventing radicalisation and extremism in your community

30th March 2022

PREVENT: Preventing radicalisation and extremism in your community

Tues 24th May at 6pm on Zoom, 90 mins

FREE

In all our communities vulnerable people may be at risk from being radicalised to support terrorism or to become terrorists themselves.  As council members and staff it’s important to be aware of the issues and what to do if concerns are raised within your community.

The training will support and update your knowledge in:

  • Protecting people from radicalising influences
  • Supporting you to build resilience to extremist narratives
  • Identifying any vulnerabilities or worrying changes in behaviour
  • Knowing what to do if you have concerns

This WRAP (Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent) session is a 1.5 hour course and will include videos and slides alongside ‘live chat’ and a range of resources available.  PREVENT is one strand of the government’s counter-terrorism strategy and aims to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism.

A certificate will be provided as evidence for CPD once completed.

Our presenter will be:

Andy Bailey, Lead Officer for Safe Durham Partnership, Economic Partnership and Prevent
