Weds 22nd Feb at 6pm on Zoom, 90 mins
£10 (invoice afterwards)
Local elections for parish and town councils are scheduled for most of Cleveland on Thurs 4 May 2022. The time leading up to and after elections is a busy one for clerks and this training will help you prepare.
We will cover the key processes and dates leading up to, during and after the election, qualifications for standing and voting in a local election including new voter ID arrangements, guidance about the nomination stage, must-dos for new councillors, setting up an induction/welcome pack for them and your first meeting after the election.
Our presenters will be:
Lesley Swinbank, currently clerk to a small parish council but with over 30+ years of experience as a large town council clerk in County Durham
Steve Ragg and Audrey Christie, Executive Officers at the County Durham Association of Local Councils
