Data protection training for parish and town councillors

23rd December 2025

Tues 3rd March 2026 6 – 7.30pm on Zoom

£20 (invoice to councils afterwards)

Understanding data protection laws is an important responsibility for all parish and town councillors as every individual councillor has both a personal role as well as to their council.  Councillors being better equipped to know how personal data must be dealt with also provides reassurance that your council is embracing the audit requirements (Assertion 10) for its 2025/26 Annual Governance Statement.

The course will demystify the often-quoted GDPR (general data protection regulations), explain the rules about dealing with personal data, the rights of individuals whose data you hold and will provide some hints and tips to keep yourself more cyber aware and protected from scams and hacks.

Our presenters will be:

Breakthrough Communications, Data Protection specialist
