THE CIVILITY AND RESPECT PROJECT
Civility and respect should be at the heart of public life yet our sector suffers from issues of intimidation, abuse, bullying and harassment. This can prevent councils from functioning effectively and discourages involvement and trust in local democracy. The national Civility and Respect Project has been a collaboration of sector representatives working to create a set of resources, actions and interventions to support good governance, lobby to strengthen the standards regime, training and processed to intervene to provide support to struggling councils.
