Your council’s responsibilities as an employer cannot be overstated and it’s crucial to understand what this means and the processes and procedures that you should have in place to ensure the successful and lawful employment of staff and to be ready to deal with any potential difficulties.
This package of 4 online (Zoom) sessions has been developed to cover the key components of being an employer from recruiting to actively managing and motivating staff and dealing with attendance management to grievance and disciplinary issues. It is suitable for both councillors and clerks/HR staff.
OUR PRESENTERS will be
Durham County Council’s HR team

Understanding why and how sickness absence should be managed and putting in place the necessary policies and processes to deal with it is essential for councils.
