Weds 12th November 2025 6 – 7pm
on Zoom
FREE briefing
For your council’s 2025/26 AGAR, you will need to formally confirm your council’s compliance with data protection/digital obligations.
This briefing will explain the new requirement and what’s expected of your council.
Assertion 10 requires evidence and our session will recommend a six stage process for your council to follow in order to satisfy data protection and information compliance requirements. In practice to satisfy Assertion 10 your council will need to have a council owned web domain eg .gov.uk (.co.uk and .org.uk are acceptable) which is used as the council’s email address, a suitable IT policy, comply with Data Protection/UKGDPR obligations and satisfy website accessibility requirements.
Please note that the website accessibility will not be dealt with in detail at this briefing – its focus will be the data/information compliance aspect of Assertion 10.
Please note that bookings and cancellations will close 48 hours before each event. Cancellations should be emailed to cdalc@durham.gov.uk.
This online training will be delivered using Zoom and the joining instructions will be emailed to participants no later than 24 hours before the event.
Our briefing will be delivered by Daniel Purchese of Breakthrough Communications. For more information, see Breakthrough’s A quick guide to the AGAR Assertion 10 and UK GDPR Compliance
